A land use agreement can limit the tonnage of trucks that can cross the neighboring property, or whatever limits the two sides agree to. A land use agreement gives the parties great flexibility in determining just how much access will be granted. Land use agreements should be recorded with the county, just as an easement is recorded. A land use agreement is a contract that spells out specific duties and responsibilities between the two sides. Sometimes a property owner will want a land use agreement. For example, ingress and egress easements may govern the use of a shared driveway or the use of a private road to reach one’s property. Ingress/egress rights are generally obtained via an easement, which is the right to use someone else’s property for a specific purpose. The rights of ingress and egress apply regardless of the type of property, whether it is owner-occupied or a rental. The right of egress and ingress are terms most commonly found in real estate law. Ingress and egress rights are important to homeowners since they allow access to their property. The right of egress is usually used in conjunction with the right of ingress, which means the legal right to enter a property. The right of egress is the legal right to exit or leave a property. If a request is made from the private network out to a public IP, the public server/endpoint responds back to that request using a port number that was defined in the request, and firewall allows that connection since its aware of an initiated session based on that port number. Since traffic often is translated using NAT in and out of a private network like the cloud, a response back from a public endpoint to a request that was initiated inside the private network is not considered Ingress. To be clear private networks here refers to resources inside the network boundary of a data center or cloud environment and its IP space is completely under the control of an entity who operates it.
In the cloud, Egress still means traffic that’s leaving from inside the private network out to the public internet, but Ingress means something slightly different. While in service provider types of the network this is pretty clear, in the case of datacenter or cloud it is slightly different. Egress in the world of networking implies traffic that exits an entity or a network boundary, while Ingress is traffic that enters the boundary of a network.
